Every individual has an aptitude of acquiring a particular knowledge and skill. But the type of knowledge and skill best suited to an individual is not known to him till he is exposed to that particular stream. If not, a misfit trainee to a misfit trade will result high absenteeism at class and workplace, partial learning of the trade and finally a disgruntled workman at the industry. The importance of “LIFE SKILLS” process is essential at the entry and a few months on commencement of training. However, a prior knowledge of available professions and the selection of the trade for it will help. QPITI have three streams of NCVT approved courses as under :
FITTER
A Fitter is universally accepted as a basic skilled workmen for employment at every branch or process of industrial manufacturing activity. A Fitter is required for Fabrication, Structural Work, Foundry work , Machine Shop, Assembly of Machinery and Equipment, Maintenance of Plant and Machinery etc. An incoming student in this Trade should have an aptitude to work with his/her hands and should have a dexterity with use of fingers. He/She should have an inclination and internal urge to handle each and every gadget within reach at home or elsewhere.
ELECTRICIAN
An Electrician is a versatile person required to work in any power fed Machinery and Equipment, Utilities like light, fan, air conditioners, pumps, compressors, Automobiles, Railway Engines and Coaches, Aeroplanes. Electricians are required in manufacturing as well as in Installation and Maintenance of all Power fed Equipment. A student desiring this trade must have a quick thinking intelligence, dexterity with fingers to handle delicate and small electrical micro-elements.
WELDER
Welders are normally production oriented workmen. Welding has replaced all methods and processes of joining metals and alloys and starting from Nano components in Computers and Mobiles to Bridge Structurals, Railway Rolling Stocks, Automobiles, Tanks and Boilers, Aviation Industry need welders to work at different processes and levels. An incumbent in this trade must have a sound health and a desire to put up hard work.
